Stir-up Sunday is the fourth Sunday before Christmas when families used to get together in the kitchen and help to prepare the Christmas Pudding. Everyone in the family had a go at stirring the ingredients while making a wish. Some families also put a silver coin inside the pudding and the person who found it on Christmas Day would be very lucky in the following year. This tradition still exists today but fewer families now make their own Christmas Puddings compared to the past.
